Stairs and Raked Sections

Visor™ is designed for application to stairs and other raked sections. Suitable for between 34-37° rake. The top handrail section is a simple cut-to-size system, perfect for onsite installation.

When using Visor™ on raked sections, the balusters are first welded to the bottom rail at the angle to suit your application, then powder coated ready for installation. You will need to arrange this with your local fabricator.

Simply add the required raked length to your order - we will supply the raked components in Mill Finish ready for welding as required by your preferred fabricator.

What You Get

The Visor™ system is supplied in individual components (not as an assembled panel) with lengths ranging between 3 and 6m, ready for accurate onsite measurement, cutting and installation. All components are extruded Aluminium and can be easily and neatly cut using a multi-material or Aluminium blade in your power saw / mitre saw.

You will receive everything you need to complete the installation, excluding the fixings for the bottom rail into your deck - you can add these in using the links below. 

Baluster Supply Options

The balusters in the system are the vertical bars between the bottom and top rails. These can be supplied in two forms:

1. Full lengths (6.1m). Simply cut down into lengths to suit your desired final balustrade height. You will then need to drill a single hole at the base of each baluster ready for installation onto the bottom rail. We supply enough to suit a 1000mmH balustrade. 
2. Pre-cut and drilled - Pre-cut at 1200mm in length and the required single hole drilled in the base of each baluster. These can be installed without any further preparation (perfect for face mounting application where the final deck to top rail height will be approx. 1080mm. If using these with the Deck Mount bottom rail, this will result in a total balustrade height of 1220mm. Or, they can be cut shorter to achieve a lower final height.

Ground Fixings

These can be supplied to suit timber or Masonry. The Visor system bottom rail requires M12 fixings at maximum 300mm centres. Check out these listings for the recommended fixings:

It's that easy! 

To order, simply calculate the total metres required for your project and add that quantity to your cart (round up to the nearest metre). Include the raked length of stairs by measuring along the angle of your stairs, top to bottom. Most stairs are close to 36° angle so you can use this handy guide to calculate the length based on either the rise or run if you can't measure the raked length:

Your Plans

After placing your order, you will receive an email asking for your balustrade plans and letting you know what information we need. Just email them through to us at info@slatwerx.com.au. A sketch is fine also!

Regardless of your particular installation, the per-metre cost remains the same, ensuring transparent and straightforward pricing. It really is that easy! 

Shipping and Delivery Options

Pick Up: Available from one of our 8 depots around the country. Simply select at checkout.

Local Delivery: Available to select postcodes around our depots. Enter your address at checkout to see if you qualify for Local Delivery. Hand unloading (no forklift onsite) is generally only available for Local Delivery Visor orders up to 12m total length. Larger orders may require a forklift onsite.

Depot or Forklift Delivery: The Visor system is shipped in a bundled package on timber skids. As the longest components are 6m and total weight usually over 100kgs, we will require a forklift onsite for delivery. If you do not have a forklift available onsite, we will deliver to our nearest transport depot. Click the link below to see all our transport locations. You or your builder can then pick up your order from that depot. Simply let us know in the comments for your order, which transport depot you would like us to deliver to.

Shipping and Delivery

At Slatwerx, we provide a range of delivery options designed to suit your needs. All products are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive safely, and we take pride in our efficient turnaround times.

Turnaround Times

For stock items, orders typically ship within 2-3 business days from the date of order, depending on stock availability and order complexity.

For larger orders and cut-to-size orders, such as enclosures or cut-to-size gates and screens, typical lead time is 2-3 weeks from the date of order unless otherwise stated in the product listing.

Depot Collection

Most orders can be collected free of charge, directly from one of our 8 nationwide depots. Depot opening hours will be listed at checkout and on your order page. These are located in:

For your safety and in accordance with WHS regulations, please note the following: Orders can only be loaded onto suitable transport. If your vehicle is deemed unsuitable, we can either arrange delivery (if within our local zones), offer a refund, or you can return with suitable transport. Please use your collection reference at the office upon arrival. Due to depot activity, there may be a wait as orders are picked when you arrive. Please note, orders cannot be purchased directly at the depot.

Local Delivery

For orders up to 180kg, we offer Local Delivery at a flat rate of $100 for metro areas around each depot. To check if you are located in the Local Delivery area, enter your postcode at checkout. For orders over 50kg, a forklift may be required at the delivery location. If no forklift is available, we will deliver to the nearest transport depot.

Nationwide Delivery

Small items can be posted to most regions across the country, via Auspost or Aramex.

For larger orders, we have access to over 180 transport depots across Australia. Where you don't qualify for Local Delivery, a courier will be arranged. Enter your address at checkout to see your nationwide delivery options. For orders over 50kg, a forklift may be required at the delivery location. SLATWERX TRANSPORT DEPOT LOCATIONS

All orders are shipped with Authority to Leave at the nominated delivery address. If you prefer to be present at the time of delivery, or do not wish to authorise Authority to Leave in your absence, please notify us directly after placing your order so alternative arrangements can be made.

Once an order has been delivered in accordance with the carrier’s delivery confirmation, Slatwerx cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage occurring after delivery. We recommend ensuring the delivery location is safe, secure, and accessible at the time of delivery.

Packaging and Care

All Slatwerx products are carefully packaged to protect them during transport and reduce the risk of damage in transit. Our packaging methods are designed to suit the size, weight, and nature of each product.

While every effort is made to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition, damage may occasionally occur during transit. Customers are required to inspect their order upon delivery and notify Slatwerx of any damage within 48 hours of receiving the delivery.

If transit damage is identified, please contact us promptly with clear photographs of the damage, the packaging, and the delivered items, so we can assess the issue and assist with a suitable resolution in line with our obligations under Australian Consumer Law.
