BARR Aluminium Balustrade (price per metre - complete kit)
Why Choose BARR™?
BARR™ is a modern welded aluminium balustrade system designed for strength, clean architectural lines and straightforward installation.
Its slim 50 × 25 mm vertical balusters and concealed rail design create an open, contemporary appearance without compromising durability. Panels arrive fully welded and powder coated, ready to install between your chosen posts.
Simple Per-Metre Pricing — No Quote Required
BARR™ is sold as a complete system at a fixed price per linear metre. In most cases, you do not need to request a quote before ordering.
Simply:
-
Calculate the total length of balustrade required.
-
Round up to the nearest whole metre and add that quantity to your cart.
-
Enter your address at checkout to view the available delivery options.
For example, if your project requires 9.5 linear metres, order a quantity of 10.
After receiving your order and plans, the Slatwerx team will complete the take-off and determine the correct combination of panels, posts and brackets for your project.

Panel Spans
The maximum span between post centres is 1793 mm. We will calculate and supply the required number of panels and posts based on your layout.
For selected 1200 mm-high configurations, the system can also be supplied with approximately 1070 mm post centres. This can allow the full width of a 2205 mm panel to be used across two bays, potentially reducing the number of panels required and lowering the overall purchase price.
Stairs and Raked Sections
BARR™ raked panels are available in the 1000 mm height and can be adjusted onsite to suit stair angles between 32° and 38°.
Raked sections are included in the same per-metre price. Measure along the angle of the stairs from the bottom to the top and include this measurement in your total order quantity.
If you cannot directly measure the raked length, you can estimate it using either formula below:
Using the vertical rise:
Rise ÷ 0.5878 = approximate raked length
Using the horizontal run:
Run ÷ 0.8090 = approximate raked length
As BARR™ does not have a continuous top rail, a separate handrail may be required on stairs or raked sections. Our matching BARR™ Handrail Kit can be purchased separately.
Gates
BARR™ Gate Converter Kit
The BARR™ Gate Converter Kit allows a BARR™ panel to be converted into a custom-width gate using the supplied gate side frames.
It is available:
-
In Satin Black or Pearl White
-
For 1000 mm or 1200 mm-high panels
When ordering, include the gate opening in your total balustrade length and add the appropriate gate converter kit separately.
BARR™ Gate Panel
The BARR™ Gate Panel is a fixed-width gate panel measuring 975 mm wide × 1200 mm high.
Available in Satin Black or Pearl White, it is designed for use with the 1200 mm-high BARR™ system, including suitable pool or perimeter applications where approved for the project.
Ground Fixings
Four fixings are required for each post. Fixings are available separately for timber and masonry installations.
As a rough guide, divide your total balustrade length by 1.8 to estimate the number of fixing sets required. The exact number will depend on your final post layout.
For example:
20 metres ÷ 1.8 = approximately 11.1
You should therefore allow at least 12 sets of four fixings, subject to the final take-off.
Deck-Mount Posts — M10 Fixings
Face-Mount Posts — M12 Fixings
Fixing suitability depends on the supporting structure and installation conditions. Confirm the appropriate fixing method with your builder, installer or engineer before installation.
Plans and Take-Off
Upload your plans when you place your order. A Slatwerx team member will review the layout and determine the required quantities of individual components.
The per-metre system price remains the same for standard horizontal and raked sections, making it easy to calculate your project cost before ordering.
Engineering Documentation
Engineering compliance documentation is available. Contact the Slatwerx team if certification documents are required for your project.
All installations must comply with the applicable NCC requirements, Australian Standards and local building regulations. Final suitability should be confirmed by your builder, certifier or relevant authority.
